The aluminum flashing method is not the only way to do this, it was just the most affordable and easiest to find where I live. If you have access to things like Sono Tubes or other ways to form the circle for this concrete log holder, by all means go for it! Tools Needed
- Miter Saw OR Circular Saw
- Drill
- Clamps
- Angle Grinder
- Speed Square
- Orbital Sander
- Tape Measure, Ruler, Pencil
- Eye and Ear protection
- Optional: Table Saw

Supplies Needed
- Aluminum Flashing and Melamine for the Form
- 2 Bags of Quikrete Mix – Quikrete 5000
- Construction Grade Adhesive
- Concrete Sealer
- 1 1/4” Wood Screws
- Sandpaper
Cutting the aluminum flashing to size (one at 16" and one at 16 3/4"). Use caution and all necessary forms of safety gear/protection when working with potentially sharp metal.

Check out this log carrier I got from Skonzig to bring firewood into the house. It holds enough to fill the concrete log holder and works great!
